Alternator Process
- Only original equipment type cores are used in the
rebuilding process.
- All units are disassembled down to the casing to
ensure a thorough cleaning. A steel shot blast is used to
properly prepare steel
& aluminum surfaces.
- Fans, Pulleys, and through bolts are zinc plated to
enhance the appearance and eliminate corrosion.
- All
rotors and stators are Hi-Pot tested at 1000 volts and thoroughly
checked and tested before being cut, polished, balanced and reinsulated.
- All low amp rotors and stators are scrapped and
replaced with New or rewound components that meet or exceed output
demands.
- All bearings and bushings are replaced with New heavy
duty components.
- All brush spring tensions are checked and tested to
guard against failure.
- New brushes and terminal insulators are installed.
- Only high temperature lubricants are used to ensure
free movement under high heat.
- All sub assemblies are checked and tested before
final assembly.
- All clutch pulleys are inspected and tested or
replaced with New on applications that require a clutch pulley.
- New attaching hardware is installed.
- All Ford alternators are built using only the latest
OE technology regulators.
- Every Nastra alternator is computer
load tested
measuring 100 different parameters before being packaged for shipment.
